Am not Happy with shade

I got a call from the patient, “doctor I am not happy with the shade of my teeth”,

I Said “Don’t worry, come down to the clinic we will change it”

Rewind 2 hours back, - We had cemented the crown on the implant. It was a Monolithic zirconia for a lower molar.

Sometimes, people are concerned about the colour of the teeth, even when it is not visible when they normally talk or laugh. We must respect this & help them be at ease with their teeth.

For the molars, monolithic zirconia is great, because it is thin, strong & there is no possibility of ceramic chip off. However, they do have one drawback they are opaque. This leads to some degree of mismatch in the shade. Because the molars are usually not seen, it works great.

The patient came to the clinic, we removed the crown, made a new impression & fixed a new crown in 3 days. This time I went for a layered zirconia and the patient was happy & comfortable. This case was treated with TD24 protocol, which allowed me to go for change in crown. Otherwise with cemented crowns it is a nightmare for dentist to cut open a zirconia crown & then change them. Thanks to TD24, I was able to help the patient without breaking a sweat.

In our practice we must deal with such situations & go the extra mile to help our patients be at ease with their teeth.
