She started eating in 3 hours

She visited us to have her tooth replaced. It was her lower right molar. She was young, having difficulty in eating because of the huge gap & she was very apprehensive about the procedure. We did her clinical examination, Intra oral scan, X rays & CBCT scan & the blood reports.

The gingival health was good, with adequate amount of keratinized tissue. The X ray & CBCT were favorable, showed good amount of bone, on the distal side, the mesial side had poor bone quality.

She was scheduled for the procedure the next day. Following the TD24 protocol, we used articaine local anesthesia to numb the area. Articaine has better depth of anesthesia, helping the patient with a comfortable procedure. We placed the implants using the single drill technique, this makes the procedure bloodless, avoids activating the RAP, thus helps in keeping the patient comfortable during & after the procedure. We placed a one-piece 5mm x 10 mm compressive implant in the distal side & one-piece 3.5mm x 23mm cortico-basal implant in the mesial side, engaging the lower cortical border of mandible. We got good stability with both the implants. They were syncrystallised, & an intra-oral Scan done. The patient was comfortable during the procedure.

The Tooth was designed, printed & polished. We recalled her in 3 hours & placed the new crown, ready to eat & enjoy her food. She is scheduled to get a Zirconia crown on it later this week.

This case shows how we can help a patient with a fixed tooth with TD24 protocol of Dr Jugal Patel.
